List of Doctor Who episodes —present. Special Ed Bazalgette. Also investigating is journalist Lucy Fletcher, and they discover that Harmony Shoal is transplanting alien brains into humans.
One of the alien workers finds the three, but they are rescued by the superhero called the Ghost, an alter ego for Grant Gordon, whom the Doctor met several years before when Grant was a child and accidentally turned him into a superhero.
Grant is also a nanny working for Lucy, who is unaware of Grant's true identity. The Doctor and Nardole find the aliens' ship, but soon discover that it has been turned into a bomb that will crash into New York as part of a complex plan to implant the alien brains into world leaders, thereby giving them control of the Earth.
The Doctor aims the ship towards New York earlier than planned and the collision is stopped by Grant, revealing his identity to Lucy.
After he and Lucy announce their love for each other, Grant throws the ship into the sun. The Doctor and Nardole have occupied themselves under the guise of a university professor and assistant.
Bill Potts is called to the Doctor's office, where she becomes the Doctor's student. Bill is intrigued by a student named Heather. Heather asks her to inspect a puddle, asking her if she can see what's wrong with her reflection.
The Doctor investigates the puddle, and notes that it is not a reflection, but something mimicking them. Bill returns to her flat, where she is chased by a moving body of fluid: a living fluid from an alien ship that has absorbed Heather and her feelings for Bill.
The fluid follows them to another planet in the future, then through a Dalek battle, but survives. Bill convinces "Heather" to let her go, and it departs.
The Doctor and Bill return to his office, where he attempts to wipe Bill's memories of the day but she stops him. Frank Cottrell-Boyce.
The Doctor and Bill arrive on one of Earth's first colonised planets, Gliese d. They are greeted only by two different types of robots: swarm robots Vardies and slow but sentient emojibots.
An emojibot gives the Doctor and Bill discs that communicate their true emotions. The Doctor theorises that the planet is awaiting the colonists but soon realises that the setup crew has been killed by emojibots and their skeletons crushed to feed the plants.
Determined to blow up the city, he finds the main ship within it and its engine room, but Bill runs into a child who has awoken from a pod.
The colonists were cryogenically frozen, with a few "shepherds" woken early to work. After one shepherd died, the emojibots could not recognise grief and killed all in mourning in an onslaught against sadness.
The awakened colonists decide to fight back, but the Doctor wipes the memory of the robots and reboots everything The Doctor and Bill find they have arrived in London, in the midst of a frost fair on the frozen Thames.
The Doctor's sonic screwdriver is stolen by Spider, an orphan pickpocket led by Kitty. The Doctor and Bill chase after Spider and Kitty.
Glowing lights under the ice encircle Spider's feet and he is pulled through the ice. The Doctor and Bill don diving suits and purposely let the lights take them; they find a giant sea creature ensnared by chains.
They learn from Kitty of Lord Sutcliffe; Sutcliffe affirms his family has used the creature to amass a fortune by collecting and selling its waste as a replacement for coal.
Sutcliffe sends the Doctor and Bill to be eaten, while he rigs a bomb to cause the ice to shatter. The Doctor and Bill escape, and the Doctor takes the bomb and places it on the creature's chains.
When Sutcliffe sets off the bomb, the creature is freed. They return to the present, where Nardole scolds the Doctor for breaking his oath.
While checking the Vault beneath the University, Nardole hears something behind it knock repeatedly. Mike Bartlett.
Bill and five students sign a lease with a mysterious Landlord to live in his manor house. After helping Bill move in, the Doctor becomes suspicious of the Landlord.
A number of the students mysteriously disappear and the groups are separated. The Doctor along with Harry, one of the students, discover a strange cockroach-like creature which the former nicknames "Dryads".

S10, Ep6. The Doctor is called by the Vatican to solve the mystery of a text called the Veritas, that when someone reads it dies soon after.
But something is dwelling in the Vatican, and doesn't want the Veritas to be read.

Bob B. Jun 09, Two excellent companions and Capaldi at his best. David C. May 10, While the storyline throughout seasons 9 and 10 isn't as engaging and characters' stories aren't as deep as the Matt Smith era, it's not as terrible as the new seasons with the new writers.
Still maintains the spirit of Doctor Who. Seasons 11 and 12 have just lost it though May 07, This is probably the weakest of the three series that Capaldi spearheaded, however that does not mean it was bad because I still enjoyed myself watching it, very much liked the relationship building between the Doctor, Bill, Nardole and Missy, each character brought a different element to the team, and another absolute stinger of a twist hit us hard in the penultimate episode.
Capaldi showed once again why he was cast as the Doctor, brilliant as ever, elevating some of the questionable writing to make it more than passable, and Pearl Mackie was a wonderful new face to discover, underrated actress in my opinion.
Definitely worth watching this series, there are plenty of intriguing albeit, at times, convoluted plots, and just enough fan service to keep die hard Whovians glued to the screen.

He seemed stern, like a school teacher that you never want to have. But even in his first episode, his bit of crazy, interesting humor, began to get to me.
Now, I love Capaldi, and will defend him against any who say he doesn't fit the bill. After so long without new episodes, to come back to this one was amazing.
He expresses so much without saying a word, even with his "attack eyebrows", that you can really feel what his character feels. He reminds me of the older Doctors, but still has a lot in common with the newer Doctors, and still manages to add his own dash of silly and whimsical to the mix.
And Bill, she surprised me as well. From the trailers, I thought she'd be stupid and annoying, but her personality, honesty and bluntness is all so refreshing and vibrant.
Nardole is also a great character, he brings the "alien" perspective in a very human manner, and provides a good laugh and astonishing insight and intelligence.
I'm really happy with the first episode, and I can't wait to see more! This is a great season so far. I like the addition of Nardole as a main character in the plot, though he doesn't do much besides nag the Doctor for the first few episodes.
However, there's really no continuation from season 9, it just starts out in a whole new place with vey little background until you get later into the season.
Most episodes in the beginning seem to be well thought-out and exciting, but the rare three-part episode midway seems to drag out conflicts longer than needed.
Only one episode felt rather dull as it goes back to the traditional plot where the characters are dropped on a different planet with no background and need to resolve a conflict between invading humans and another species.
Typical us! There are many clever puns too. And Missy is back! I try not to spoil while still writing a decent review, but the writers had her and the Doctor take a different route than the classic 'He spoils her plans and she runs away' scenario, and to me this is where the season differentiates itself.
You get to see a deeper connection between those two, and it's really cool! The season finale has not aired yet as of this writing, but from the trailers I've seen I think it is going to be one of the best episodes for a long time to come.
I am one of those that generally refuses to watch a particular season or Doctor until the former one has passed, most likely out of spite I refused to watch the Matt Smith season until well after Capaldi was into his 2nd, due to my upset at Tennant's death lol That said, once I began watching this season, I was yet again surprised to once again fall in love with the character of The Doctor Capaldi brings something to the role that I had not seen in the modern iteration yet: Sincerity And, more than that, humanity.

The CC showed what it sounded like The Doctor was saying, but not what he actually said. For those who are not used to Scottish accents and British slang, closed captioning is extremely useful.
But it is useful only if it is accurate. For some reason, the show has joined the annoying trend of mumble-mumble dialog being used in tv shows and movies today; making closed captioning all that more necessary.
I really liked season I love Peter Capaldi, Bill, and Nardole. So my review of the season is it was great, my review of what BBC did with this seasons packaging is not.
The reason I am not happy with the packaging is that they charged more for this season and then went cheap with the packaging, and on top of that there was a sticker stating that a code for 4 free Doctor Who digital comics was included but was no where inside the package.
I love all the Doctor Who seasons, but Bill was such an upgrade from Clara being sadly my least favorite companion, though she grew on me once Capaldi came along , that it made me enjoy the season even more.
He was and forever shall be The Doctor, and he will be missed. I can't wait for the Christmas Special! I reserve judgement for the new Doctor until I see her in action, but I haven't been disappointed with a regeneration yet, so I'm tentatively hopeful!
