Special Note: One of my fifty favorite albums of all time. This was one of the most well rounded, and most impressive releases of the 80's Heavy Metal era in my opinion.
Lead vocalist, and founding member Doro Peche is not only a total fox, she's got one hell of a voice as well. A pure Metal voice that is infectious, and beautiful at the same time.
You'll fall in love with her if you're not careful. In , I know I was Warlock totally rips on this release, and the songs are all very powerful and heartfelt.
They had a unique sound, one that has not been duplictaed since IMO. I love this release, and from start to finish, it's a great ride.
You wont know what hit you at first, and soon you'll understand why "Triumph And Agony' is so highly respected by Metal fans world wide Do yourself a favor.
Even if you've never heard Warlock, or anything Doro has done as solo artist, buy this immediately. It's a classic Metal masterpiece, and your collection wont be complete without it Highly Recommended.
Five Stars. Their are actual wolves howling on the album! Doro Pesch is the best female metal vocalist possibly ever with only Lita Ford coming close.
You can tell this had the German occult scene in mind when recorded. Although certainly not death metal, this still is a very witchcraft like metal much like Helloween or Ozzy.
Which makes this album mostly average. The songs: 1. All We Are- A pretty good anthem to start off the album.
But then again, there's a lot of energy in it. I really like the way this song comes across because it matches the energy I hear and enjoy from power metal bands.
Doro has really incredible voice and the guitars in this track are incredible! The song is quite good! Three Minute Warning- This song starts off like a power metal song with the double bass drumming.
This song showcases some great drumming, chugging guitars with some leads at time, Doro's power, and it's extremely catchy!
The solo in this one is also very well done and the song is just a great burst of energy that comes out of nowhere and leaves just as quickly as it came.
I Rule the Ruins- This song stars off like a hair metal song and then it turns in to a petty cool rock song. This one doesn't really have a metal vibe to it, it has more of a fast hard rock feel to it.
It has an epic atmosphere to it and the guitars do some cool things at times. This is pretty good song.
Some shredding in a few spots. Nicely done. Kiss of Death- Werewolf sounds start off this song and then the song starts off very mystically.
This song sounds 80's but that's not a bad thing in this case. This song sounds freaking awesome. The guitars in this one are very well done.
They add a cool epic melody to a very mysterious and chilling song. This is my favorite song on the album. This is the one that gets the most play back time.
I love the way this song was made and I love the guitars and how they fit in together. Great song, good job to Warlock! Make Time for Love- This is a ballad with a name like that, how could it not be?
While this song is pretty in the beginning, I just don't like it that much. It's an ok ballad at best. Overall, the song has good parts and not very good parts and I just don't like how they play out together.
The lyrics are cheesy, the music is epic, but almost to a cheesy point, and it just doesn't appeal to me. I think this is one of the album's weakest songs for the cheesiness factor.
The chorus is also just kinda bad. Touch of Evil- When the drums come in, it really gets my attention! Doro's powerful voice comes in and gives the song some anger.
The guitar part gives it some texture and it overall sounds like a Judas Priest kind of song. I like the way the instruments in this song come together.
It creates a pretty fun-sounding anthem for heavy metal fans. The lyrics are what spoil it for me though. They are way too repetitive and they just make it unenjoyable.
Had this been instrumental, I would've loved it! Metal Tango- This song, has some cool music behind it. It really gets me nodding along, but the lyrics again just kind of spoil this.
They are overly cheesy and just make it uninteresting sadly. It is a cool song concept, but the execution could've been better.
Cold, Cold War- A triplet drum beat starts it off with some guitar effects joining it. Doro comes in and gets the song moving.
This song is one that gets the listener pumped up. It isn't as good as the tracks that opened up the album, but I still find it enjoyable to some degree.
It at least gives something cool to hear in the last part of the album. Für Immer- Another ballad, this one being in half German and half English.
It sounds good, but over all it doesn't really go anywhere and I guess I just thought it had the potential to go somewhere and got let down by the fact that it doesn't.
It's a decent closer, but only an ok song at best. Verdict: I haven't bought anything else from this band or from Doro as of yet, but if you want to get into either of those bands, I'd suggest getting something besides this album.
It really doesn't showcase anything that will blow you away. If you want a good, fun metal album, I'd suggest getting something from the modern band Amaranthe.

As another review has said, I too remember this album from when I was I've not heard it for more years than I care to admit, but equally I remember every track and every lyric word perfect too , and so in a spate of nostalgia I purchased all the CDs that were no longer in my possession.
In the world of rock dominated by male vocalists, Doro can hold her own. The strength and breadth of her vocal talent is extraordinary. Every track on this CD is worth listening to time and time again, and Fur Immer will have you accidentally being able to sing in German!
Why oh why did I leave it so long? If you're looking for a stonkingly good listen, buy this without hesitation, and if you too remember it from many years ago, you are not mistaken, it was, and still is, excellent.
Even after all these years this is still a simply amazing album. Doro has a superb voice. Over 30 years on and I still listen to this album a lot.
Report abuse. Great album, Doro have a great voice for a female heavy matal vocalist. Usually, i prefer this kind of vocals more than gothic or symphonic vocals.
The album is great and contains first the beauty art that makes you want to eat the jewel case or the vinyl case, and second the great track like: 'Touch of Evil' specially, 'East Meets West', 'Kiss of Death' and more.
Highly recommended for any heavy metal fan, true classic record. This ist a Metal Ihr kennt dieses Album noch nicht?
